Ruh roh! There's trouble in River City.....
The adventures of a gainfully employed, divorced, 50 year old, vegetarian, twin, Jackson Browne loving, two time breast cancer surviviving, step mother, who is probably going to wind up being the crazy lady in the mobile home park who knits matching sweaters and tams for her herd of cats.
My fabulous friend Margaret from "Mamadrama" (http://blogs.chron.com/mamadrama/) tagged me for a "Six Random Things About Me" meme. Margaret is going to having very first baby in the next couple of months...and it's a boy. I've been reading her blog at a different site before she even started writing for Mamadrama...so we go way back!
I'm happy to announce that Nort is growing fat and sassy! Since her brush with death she has continued to have a little bit of a problem with her hind legs but it really doesn't slow her down at all. It's only when she takes her first couple of steps that you can even tell that anything is wrong. She's a little wobbly and if she isn't paying 100% attention to what she's doing then her rear end doesn't exactly coordinate with her front end and it kind of goes in the opposite direction. This has not stopped her from jumping on to the kitchen counter or on to the back of the couch. Her favorite place to play is inside the bath tub. It takes her a couple of jumps in order to get out of the tub but she's never been stuck in there
Of the 5 of my kitties Nort is the sweetest. She is the only one who will let me hold her and I'm sure that is because of how much we held her when she was sick. The instant I pick her up she starts to purr and blink her eyes but she is still a very busy teen aged cat and doesn't like to be held for long. She lives to bite my feet as they hang over the edge of the love seat or to attack my socks as I walk past her. She loves to eat Feline Greenies and can play with the cord to the front door blinds for hours. She plays hard and she sleeps hard. (She also snores.) She loves to be combed but she is certain that I'm trying to murder her when I try to clip her nails.
That's all for this issue of the Nort Report. Next time I will try to post a picture of Matilda.
Sorry it's been a while since I've posted but I was afflicted with a killer sinus infection. Thought it was allergies from all of the wind we've been having here in so Cal. Then when it didn't go away I figured I had caught a cold. But then when my teeth started to hurt and my face felt like it had been filled up with sand I figured a sinus infection was on it's way. Sometimes I can just live through sinus infections if I have enough Flo-nase and kleenex. This wasn't the case this time and I got really sick. Fevers and aches and pains and the whole 9 yards. After being harrassed and harangued almost hourly by my sister I finally dragged my fanny to urgent care. (note to anyone who's listening: when picking an urgent care facility during insurance open enrollment time...pick one close to your home, not your work. Having your doc close to your work is convenient for appointments made when you are not in the throes of death but when you are siiiick the last thing you want to do is have to drive on highways and bi-ways to get yourself medical care.)
I would like to thank the people who took the time to comment on my book. I would also like to apologize for taking so long to publish your comments. Usually when I have a comment waiting on my blog...BlogSpot will email me and tell me that I have a comment that needs to be reviewed, but for what ever reason...it has stopped doing that. So as I've sat having my pitty party thinking that no one was impressed at all with my book...I was just told by my sister that she knows that there are comments waiting for me to publish. I thought she had lost her mind but I came here and checked anyway and lo and behold....comments. That need to be published.
